[The museum is undergoing renovations until 2010. Although it will be open during that time, some galleries may be closed. Call ahead for details.] Noted for its magnificent architecture, this downtown museum chronicles Canadian history from prehistoric times to the present. In 2006, the museum reopened the west wing of the building with brand new world-class exhibits: the Talisman Energy Fossil Gallery, the Mammal Gallery, and the Bird Gallery. More galleries are slated to appear; meanwhile, the amazing world of nature springs to life on a high-definition cinema screen.
