9. Sparks Street Pedestrian Mall

Founded in the early 1800's, Sparks Street became one of the city's most important areas following Queen Victoria's selection of Ottawa as the nation's capital. Ottawa's thriving commercial center is comprised of more than 50 stores, services, restaurants, and outdoor cafés. The Mall is good for people who like to walk just to pass time, but there better things to do. I have been to Ottawa about eight times now, varying from three to seven days, and the Mall is always devoid of people. I must be going during slow periods.
