About Oxford Nightlife
Oxford may be small, but there's never a dull moment in this lively college town. Populated with restaurants and bars, the Square is the heart of Oxford's nightlife. At many of these spots, the action revolves around catching the latest sports coverage or better yet, going out for drinks after a home game. But music plays an important, role, too and many bars feature live bands regularly. Several key concert venues and a large student fan base attract headline concerts to town. Proud Larry's, an awesome bar serving up tasty pizza and calzones, hosts major shows several nights a week, and, one of Oxford's oldest venues, The Lyric, has been recently transformed into a large concert hall with standing space and a bar. Whether you're looking to hear traditional Mississippi blues or an Indy rock show, the local music scene offers something for everyone. -- Elizabeth Baxley, 10Best Editor
