The Old Tom is a favorite haunt for some Christ Church students. Despite the crowd that normally packs in here, the pub is surprisingly quiet and has a very Irish, almost scholarly, feel to it. Although the food is the typical pub-grub with few surprises, it's the laid-back atmosphere and company that draw loyal patronage. The bar staff is very obliging and willing to answer questions about both "town and gown" as you sip from a pint o' Guinness.
