7. The Trout Inn

A visit to the immensely popular Trout, located nearly two and a half miles north of Oxford Centre, is like taking a trip through time. There are stone bridges and buildings in an almost mystical setting. This pub, which rests near a weir on the River Isis (Thames) and is home to several peacocks, swans, and herons, is laden with history. The "smoking room," which was once the original bar, dates back over 700 years.
