Lovingly called "The Bird and Baby" by regulars, this pub has particular historical significance in Oxford. It was once the favorite watering hole of the Inklings, which consisted of C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, et al. In fact, rumor has it that the authors read aloud parts of "The Chronicles of Narnia" and "The Hobbit" here. Even today, the pub has a literati feel about it, and it is an ideal place to wind down the day and discuss current events.
