OXNARD.   Aimed at pre-teen children, this experiential museum allows kids to learn while they play. Interaction with exhibits is welcomed, and visitors are invited to touch, manipulate, and explore at will. Career options can be examined via a doctor's office, an astronaut's space station, and an archaeologist's excavation area. This is a hands-on, discovery-type children's museum with about 15 main exhibits or play areas, live animals (including a seawater touch tank), arts and crafts activities, and more. A great (inexpensive) family destination (admission is only $4 per person, with kids under 2 free). It is smaller than other children's museums we've been to, but the kids don't seem to notice, and at that price, what do you expect? Great destination for a fun family outing.
