DOWNTOWN.
This popular downtown cantina attracts folks regularly for delicious Mexican fare and an animated nightlife scene. The gracious establishment boasts a glorious palapa (outdoor patio) and features nightly live entertainment – everything from Latin and blues to pop and rock bands. Fabulous margaritas are made with premium tequilas – the blended strawberry version is particularly enticing. While happy hour crowds get things started, after-dinner patrons are happy to keep the party going. A city classic.

Not very friendly
I was staying in PS in Oct. 2009 and ended up going based on the hotel's recommendation. It was kind of late, 8:45 p.m., so I called to see what time they closed. They said 10 p.m. I asked them if I showed up at 9:30 could I still get seated and they said yes. I showed up at 9:05 and they told me they were closed! I was so angry, but I decided that maybe they would be good for lunch. so the next day I went for lunch and the staff was rude. I ordered and the food came out dry and too hot. It burnt my tongue. Temp hot, not spicy hot. Then they disappeared and I had to ask for the check. Finally after another 15 mins, they gave me the check and then left. Very rude, not very good mexican food, and apparently they lie if you call them. Not worth the trip, you can find better.

Best place in Palm Springs. Excellent food, atmosphere, service, and a great place to meet people. Also, they have the best live music in the desert. I highly recommend Las Casuelas to anyone. I have been there 20-30 times over the last couple of years and have had a really good experience every time.

All of the "Las Casuelas" restaurants (there are now 5) are wonderful and authentic--all are owned by different segments of the Delgado family and all in their own way, do a wonderful job!---these are NOT taco stands, but wonderfully creative true Mexican restaurants---Las Casuelas Nuevas, in Rancho Mirage, is the most opulent building wise, with a beautifully authentic courtyard for drinks while the Mariachis stroll, or for dinner---the inside is done as a true hacienda---I think it's a not to be missed spot!!!!
