9. Celebrate France

The Buzz -- In Paris, residents and visitors alike celebrate all things French beginning on New Year's Eve and continuing into the New Year. On December 31, a parade in nearby Chantilly, called the Grande Parade de Chantilly, has a large array of floats and features live music, marching bands, dancers and miscellaneous acts. The Paris Parade Festival is held on January 1 at the Trocadero beneath the Eiffel Tower. Fireworks, wine tastings and plenty of goodwill add to the celebration.
