3ème ARRONDISSEMENT.   Established in 1924, Chez L'Ami Louis is still a great place for a delicious meal. Don't let the building's aging appearance fool you, because the restaurant is known for its great French fare, including lamb cut French-style and foie gras. The quaint, simple interior establishes a comfortable, friendly environment and is ideal for a satisfying meal. An ideal place for people watching, too - Presidents Clinton and Chirac have been there. METRO: Arts-et-Métiers (line 3 or 11) / Temple (line 3)   (© 10Best)

70 euros for a plate of asparagus! The place had a dirty feel and smell. My wife and I were ushered into a cramped corner of the restaurant onto uncomfortable chairs next to a blazing radiator. After looking at the ridiculous prices on the menu - none was posted outside - I explained they were trying to havie a joke at our expense, paid for the aperitifs and we left. Interestingly no French people seemed to be dining there. Poor attitude and service at whatever price. Maybe they make more of an effort with celebrities. I'd recommend anyone to avoid this miserable excuse for a restaurant.

First, the portions are ridicoulous in size and price. and they are rude about splitting plates. Second the attitude is all the stereotypical french attitude: they are doing you a favour. Third, after watching them serve a table next to us a coca cola light and asking for the same we were told they didnt have any. they treat you like your stupid. Finally, as i was paying for the meal their little handheld machines werent working and my card wasnt accepted and they became belligerent and accusatory that my card was no good and was a bad person. three cards later they were able to get an approval on the original card on another machine, but the damage was done, we had been loudly identified as bums to the entire restaurat. Humiliating when it was their fault. I wouldnt go back and would recommend many other places before returning here.

I love Chez L'Ami Louis. I have been lucky enough to eat there three times so far. You never forget a meal at this restaurant. And even if you eat in some of the other great restaurants in Paris, it's the meal at Chez Ami that you think of when you return home. A great place, very expensive but worth every franc.
