A spare, clean-lined decor with exposed ductwork, warm woods, and lizard artwork distinguishes this restaurant without resorting to kitsch or stereotype. Although it doesn't look like a typical Mexican eatery, Loco Lizard serves food that's a constant reminder of how quality ingredients and skillful preparation can revitalize old favorites. Chimichangas, burritos, and enchiladas fit the traditional bill, while shrimp or fish tacos, snapper Vera Cruz, and seafood rellenos twist the classics in a tantalizing manner. Other specialties include carnitas, chipotle chicken, Oaxacan moles, and refried beans, which benefit from the addition of epazote, Mexican cuisine's signature herb. This is a great restaurant. I visited it in February 2004. A great dining experience and excellent food. Wish there was a Loco Lizard in New York. A great recommendation to all
