This stately 1904 mansion was the former home of Cheong Fatt Tze, an affluent merchant, industrialist and government advisor. The home embodies the essence of 18th and 19th century Chinese architecture and is among the three such buildings remaining outside China. The former residence of Syed Alatas, a prominent Achehnese merchant who traded between Acheh and Penang.
