WEST PEORIA.   Around since the late '30s, Sky Harbor has the look and feel of a quintessential Midwestern steakhouse, from its comfortable wooden booths and supper club-inspired decor to its swank piano bar and versatile banquet room. Named for its original location overlooking Peoria Airport, the restaurant is one of the area's top special-occasion places. As such, its menu runs the gamut with premium cuts of beef, orange roughy, channel catfish, and award-winning baby-back ribs. Wednesday and Saturday nights feature live music.   (© 10Best)

I had been very fond of this restaurant years ago and thought that the prime rib certainly rivaled the best in town at that time (Jim's Steakhouse - Downtown, and River Station). Having been out of the country for a few years I was anxious to try the Prime Rib out again. Unfortunately I this time found it bland (though tender), and largely flavorless with a instant tasting au jus. I suspect that the prime rib is now a pre-cooked commercially sold variety rather than what I had thought before as seasoned and cooked in house. I certainly regret that I have to herein relate my disappointment and hope that the quality of the food improves. Other notes, bus service inattentive, "rolls" cheapest of volume "Wonder" or "Sunbeam" products. Dressing also commercial. Salads very small and merely iceburg chopped. It really would not take much to bring this restaurant back to good standing, I hope they can make a few changes.
