About Philadelphia Events
A little thing like weather – hot or cold, snowy or rainy – doesn't keep Philadelphians from going outside and celebrating. Not surprisingly, the city's annual calendar is packed full of fun things to do just about each and every month. Thanks to the widespread popularity of hometown crews like the Eagles, Fliers, Phillies and Sixers, there are plenty of big-ticket sporting events each season, of course. But that's not all. Jam on the River in late May is a rocking way to spend Memorial Day weekend, and the weeklong Welcome America! festivities in July collectively stand as one of the biggest and best ways to celebrate the United States' birthday. In the fall, there's the massive Philadelphia Craft Show, and the holiday season enjoys plenty of celebrating thanks to the creative folks who help "deck" historic Elfreth's Alley and the spirited re-enactments of George Washington's Christmas Day crossing of the Delaware.
