7. Le Bec-Fin

Tried them out on a Restaurant week special with my wife, my daughter and her husband. Most of us got the Salmon, it was good but not memorable, the sides with it were second rate, an appetizer of goat cheese tart was better. The Creme Brule dessert was also very good but by no means one of the best. Service stunk. They lost our order in the kitchen, gave a lame appology made us wait more and apologized again. They didn't even offer to give us a coffee while we waited and waited for dinner. I realize waiting is a part of the ambiance, however seeing darn near every other table have a complete turnaround while you are still waiting for ther entree is a bit disheartening. Come to think of it they didn't even offer us coffee or tea with our dessert. They slapped it on the table and seemed to give us the bums rush (by this time it was so late it looked like they wanted to close up). We were properly dressed, neither loud nor complaining and we had all taken showers earlier in the day so those reasons for poor service didn't count. I have been a wine steward at a three star dining room and my wife has waitressed at the same so we know the ropes. If they are trying to attract customers by participating in Reataurant week they had better clean up their act. Was it worth the money? NO! Even at these reduced rates I know at least two dozen places Id rather eat that offer a better meal with better service.
