You may have to call for directions, but it's an effort you won't regret. New American cuisine is updated with such ingredients as goat cheese, fresh herbs, a knockout wine list, and a delicious Sunday brunch menu. The ambience is intimate, yet refreshingly open. Reservations recommended. Business casual attire.

20 years!
My husband and I have enjoyed this wonderful restaurant for 20 years. We come here for special occasions with friends or just the two of us, and it has never disappointed . The food and service are wonderful, and a super wine list is tops. My husband dines in center city quite often, and still prefers the Mainland. It is cozy, relaxing and friendly. Keep up the great work!

My wife and I have been going here on special occasions for years, but our most recent visit was a disappointment. The service has gone downhill as well as the quality of the food. I was charged for a crab cake I never got. The waitress removed when I brought it to her attention. I don't think I'll be going back.

My wife and I have been dining at the Mainland Inn for several years, on special occasions, a few times per year. It has always been top-notch food, service and presentation. However, our last visit there on February 16, 2008, was very disappointing. We usually order the sea scallop dish, which is served with delicous whipped potatoes, perfectly cooked scallops, and the most succulent sauce that we have ever tasted. This is all nicely presented with the scallops encircling the potatoes, and fresh veggies on the side. However, on February 16th, the meal on our plates was just tossed there, the potatoes were barely warm, and the sauce was very minimal. Barely enough sauce to last us thru the meal. The waiter did bring us a side dish of wamer potatoes at my request, however, it was not the same. They were not as tasty as the many previous times we have dined there. We were both VERY disappointed with the meal, and have decided NOT to dine there again. This was our favorite upscale restaurant, but now we need to explore others. I don't know if the chef was off that night and they had a substitute, stand-in or replacement. But the quality was VERY noticable, and unfortunately, they lost our patronage.
