SOUTH PHILLY.   Guided by the praise-worthy hands of owner-chef Maria Forte, this cozy BYOB on Eighth serves as a home-away-from-home to some of South Philly's most discerning palates. For many, Forte's dreamy fare, much of which pays homage to the small Italian town where she grew up, evokes memories of meals taken in their mothers' kitchen. Who can blame them for feeling so? Especially when you factor in the care – some might even call it passion – Forte throws into each and every plate of pasta, bowl of soup and serving of gnocchi.   (© 10Best)

It's sad someone would rate a restaurant their favorite and because of one bad experience tell people to skip it. Tell the owner or the waitstaff not other people when you know this place has great food and service. Everyone has a bad night and NYE's was extremely busy. I was there and had a great dinner but I was with good company and the time spent there was not a bother. I would recommend Cucina Forte to anyone. The food is made of quality ingredients.

This was one of my favorite places in Philadelphia until last night....New Year's Eve. It was a terrible experience. We had to wait 2 hours for our food. They were so short-handed; there was only 1 waitor trying to keep everyone from walking out. I saw 2 people in the kitchen trying to prepare meals for 60 guests. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. They were absolutely unprepared for New Year's Eve, had the nerve to raise the regular prices, and served very poor food. Too bad.......they lost good and loyal customers.

We had dinner at this restaurant without knowing anything about it. The staff was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable and the food was terrific. We highly recommend Cucina Forte.
