About Philadelphia Shopping
Granted, Philadelphia's often not held in the same esteem as Atlanta, Miami or New York when it comes to shopping, but maybe it should be. After all, you don't have to pay a sales tax on any clothes you purchase here, and for shoppers, that's a grand thing! With that in mind, the city's shops are legendary for their selections of vintage clothing, particularly so in the vicinity of Rittenhouse Square, along Pine Street (aka Antique Row) and in Old City. For a taste of more current fashions, there're places like King of Prussia Mall and the Shops at Liberty Place. To quench your thirst for the avant-garde or bohemian, look to the eclectic shops along South Street. Also a popular Philly tradition, you'll find public market places located throughout the city, including the Reading Terminal Market in Center City and South Philly's Italian Market on 9th Street. -- Elizabeth Baxley, 10Best Editor
