NORTHERN LIBERTIES. This όber-cool, tri-level nightclub is located next to the PNC Bank building... In fact, the building that houses Transit was itself a bank once upon a time. The old vault has been converted into a billiards room; the mezzanine, meanwhile, holds several VIP areas, and folks willing to lay down serious coin can rent the VIP suite, which overlooks the main dance floor. As for dancing, Transit regularly features multiple DJs each night, and if you explore a bit you're sure to find one spinning your favorite style of music.

OLD CITY. Yes, this late-night club is a members-only establishment (applications are available on their Website and processed within four weeks), but folks in-the-know claim it's one of the best places in Old City to get your groove on once all the other joints have yawned and shut down for the night. Expect to see a crowd of hip, sexy folks here from night to night, all of them dressed to the nines and most of them eager to strut their stuff on the dance floor. VIP areas, bottle service and big-name DJs give the place an added air of exclusivity as do the prices, which are not for the faint of wallet.

CENTER CITY. Versatile Woody's occupies two levels, offering its primarily gay clientele a wide range of diversions. On the first floor, there's the swanky Manhattan Lounge (actually the original Woody's bar), the casual Pub Room, and Woody's Coffee Bar, a comfortable little spot that overlooks the street and serves terrific cappuccinos and panini. Upstairs is another bar, an area for film screenings and, of course, the disco. Things in the disco don't get going until late, but once they do you can count on great music (everything from country to cutting edge house) and even better scenery.

SOUTH STREET. Ulana's, which is located just a block off South Street, is one of those surprising side-street spots that looks fairly straightforward on first glance. Many folks know it as a restaurant that serves pasta dishes by candlelight, making it a terrific neighborhood place to take your sweetheart. Once the night wears on, though, things begin to change, especially upstairs the pulse quickens, the dance beats resonate, and the crowd that shows up does so sporting their hippest club-wear. Indeed, the late night crowd thinks of Ulana's as a lounge and dance club, one whose taste in music can range from techno to hip-hop, depending on which DJ has the reins.
