3. Mrs. White's Golden Rule Cafe

Good ol' down home cooking.

I was homesick for a good glass of sweet tea, good southern style food and a relaxed atmosphere. I got it all! The portions were HUGE, fit the bill for my cravings exactly, and I was able to read the walls (which also serve as the menu--black marker on white concrete walls) covered in famous and not-so-famous signatures and comments. The greens and sweet potatoes were the best I've had outside the South!

I always find the best meal at Mrs. White's Golden Rule Cafe. Granted nothing compares to Mom or Grandma's, but if their kitchens are closed, Mrs. White's is the best kitchen this side of heaven.
