EDITOR REVIEW: NORTH SIDE. Although he retired a few years back, Myron Cope remains a fixture at Heinz Field during Steelers' games. The 78-year-old former broadcaster was born and raised in Pittsburgh and eschewed a career in New York City to stay in Pittsburgh. Why else is Cope so famous in town? It's not just his nasal delivery and curious catchphrases. During a playoff run in the 1970s, he invented a true Steelers' tradition, getting fans to energetically wave gold-hued dishcloths (with the words "Terrible Towel" printed on them) to get each other fired up about the game. NB 10Best mourns Mr. Cope's passing on Wednesday, February 27th, and our hearts go out to his family, friends, and the people of Pittsburgh.
