STRIP DISTRICT.
Primanti Bros. is probably the most famous restaurant in Pittsburgh, and its main location (known as Primanti's on the Strip) is open 24 hours to satisfy even the most dire of sandwich cravings. Their claim to fame is creating an entire meal in a sandwich – in addition to meat, you get fried potatoes and Pittsburgh-style coleslaw (no mayo) right on the sandwich. Regulars suggest the double egg (surprisingly good early in the morning!), pastrami, and cheese steak versions to get an authentic taste of this Pittsburgh favorite.

Strip District Hot spot
Coming from Philly to Pittsburgh, well what can I say, Cheesesteak is a Philly cheesesteak---but the Pittsburgh style steak is more like a burger with fries and coleslaw all heaped together. My son and mother had it and sad it was good. I had the Fish Sandwich--needed salt, but I give this place 4 stars because it made me feel like I was a local. It was clean and people were friendly and the people waiting to get their chance was non-stop.

I guess being a transplant to Pittsburgh I didn't know this is a staple of the "bergers" diet...not really my cup of tea on a cleanliness level...but character and a good sandwich
