1. Blessing of the Fleet

The Buzz -- This annual tradition invokes blessings for all sailors and boats. The event usually lasts from just before lunch until about 5pm, with the official invocation at 1pm. A boat parade with decorated boats of all shapes and sizes, a memorial service, live entertainment, contests and food booths also make up this event that's unique to the Cape Cod area; a number of towns throughout the region host their own fleet-blessing celebrations.
