Located on the Barbican and the only free standing pub in the area, The Navy Inn makes a nice evening stop. The food choices are typical and range from soups and fish 'n chips to pan fried mushrooms and desserts. The decor is pleasant, and the pub offers a good selection of ales.   (© 10Best)

If you are in Plymouth, then a stop-off to The Navy Inn, The Barbican, is a must. Their sizzling steak lunches ( circa £5.99 ), are an absolute delight, both for taste, and value for money - all fresh ingredients. With a very good choice of beers, and very friendly staff, it is truly is The Best Of British, when it comes to pub grub. I travel across from Northern Ireland to Plymouth, at least 2 - 3 times a year, and The Navy Inn, is my first port of call, when I arrive. DEFINATELY 10/10. You will be hard pushed, to get better value for money, anywhere in the UK.
