With a bistro-type decor and a casual ambience, Piermasters is a local favorite for seafood. Menu items tend to be on the lighter side and consist of the day's catch. Both lunch and dinner menus are available, and prices range from moderate to expensive. Reservations recommended.

Used to be the place to go but both food and ambience has lost a bit of zing. Still OK for mother-in-law and all moderately good quality but at a price. Look at the alternatives. If you want fish the Platters is the regional best 50 metres up the street, if you want meat then locals use the Steak and Omelette in the retail shopping area, and Vegetarians swear by Veggie Perrins in mayflower St. If you want prissy pretention and have a fat wallet then let monetbags take you to Tanners in Finewell St which is the city's only Good Food Guide entry and was found by the AA to be the best provincial city restaurant.
