PONCE. This museum is Ponce's crowning glory and many people come to the city just to visit it. Puerto Rico's former governor Luis A Ferre donated the museum, which boasts the most extensive collection of European and Latin art in the Caribbean. The pre-Raphaelite and baroque works are particularly noteworthy. Edward Durall Stone, one of the builders of New York's Museum of Modern Art, dreamed up the fascinating building -designed as seven connected hexagons. Since there are more than 1000 paintings and 400 sculptures, allow yourself plenty of time to explore.
