PONCE. This pristine island is a wonderful spot to do some snorkeling or private sun bathing. The island is not much more than mangrove swamps, white sand beaches and an abandoned 19th century lighthouse. The tiny island is only about one mile long and less than three miles wide, and there are no permanent inhabitants. Round-trip ferries leave from La Guancha.
