JOHN'S LANDING. The goal of this free art museum in Portland is to engage visitors in conversation about crafts - what it means to "craft," the definition of "craft" and the history of this art form. Founded in 1937 as a ceramic studio, the Portland Museum of Contemporary Craft now features more than 1000 items in its permanent collection. Glass, metal, fiber and wood works are included, and visiting exhibits never cease to pique interest and inspiration.
