How big is a bald eagle's nest? Rather roomy, as you'll see on a visit to Jackson Bottom Wetlands Education Center, where the installation of a preserved eagle's nest has drawn folks from all over to the quiet suburban nature center. After the black cottonwood supporting the nest started to deteriorate in 2005, the 1500-pound twiggy home was carefully removed from its 96-foot-high perch and put on display indoors. (from Sunset)
