Noted far and wide as the home of microbrewing this side of the Atlantic, Portland has a host of quality brew pubs. An interesting concept, theater pubs specialize in offering microbrews along with a movie, many of which have been previously released but not yet available for purchase on DVD. Favorite hangouts like the Saucebox bar and dance club combination, ¡Oba! Restaurante with its convivial happy hour and the intimate Kell's Irish Pub keep night revelers more than satisfied.

With a traveler's theme, North 45 is a place where you can come enjoy an import Belgium beer and Pommes Frites (fries) with some friends. They have quite an extensive menu of fantastic food including sandwiches, burgers, and mussels (their specialty) as well as a full bar. I've been there several times and I've always been consistently impressed with their food, drinks, and friendly service. A must visit for anyone looking for a friendly place to go in Northwest Portland!

When you are looking for a great place to dance, mix and mingle, I highly recommend going there Fridays. The people are friendly and looking sharp, the music is trendy and the drinks are superb. They always have enough people staffed for quick service and parking is only a block away. The Dj's play Hip-hop, R&B, Mash-ups, Current Hits and occasionally take you back with some great tracks from the 80's and 90's. The downside is they do allow smoking and it can be a bit much, but the outdoor patio is a great way to refresh from all of that. All in all this is one of the best places to party in the city. You can let loose and let yourself be free. It's also conveniently located in Portland's historic entertainment district by the waterfront. Definitely a spot to put on your list for a club crawl or club hopping. The ohm has been around for along time and it will be around for many successful years to come.

This place has discovered a niche that has been virutually untouched not just by the likes of Portland, but throughout. The owners, Ted and Daniel, have committed themselves to providing a new type of cocktail experience. "In a word, the drinks are exceptional. The spirits are balanced nicely with the ingredients, not masked by them. Daniel and Ted are attentive to everyone's needs. They work the island-style bar in tandem and despite the labor-intensive work of producing handcrafted cocktails, they take time to answer questions, discuss and share recipes." – as quoted by one patron from her experiences on opening night. You have GOT to check this place out!!!

This bar has literally a small book of drinks, for example, there is an entire page of different mojitos. They have a small menu but it the food is tasty and unique. The place relatively small and gets packed on Friday nights, so sometimes it is hard to get a seat. If you do though, it's great!
