PEARL DISTRICT.   No trip to Portland would be complete without a stop at the biggest bookstore in the world: nine rooms filled with a million volumes. You can find almost any book you want at Powell's City of Books, possibly at a bargain price. The staff at this popular Portland shop is friendly and can always help find the book you seek. Be sure to stop at the cafe within this wondrous Portland book store, and stick around for authors who give readings in the Pearl Room.
