10 Travel Tidbits About Adam
  • #1 place on "to see" list: Skulking the streets of Venice to see how many backdrops I can recognize from Nicolas Roeg's Don't Look Now.
  • The coolest place I’ve stayed for under $400 a night: A tie between the Hotel Palomar and the Hotel Monaco in San Francisco. It didn’t hurt that I spent the days at Industrial Light & Magic and Pixar.
  • Craziest thing I’ve ever done on a trip: Dancing behind Corey Feldman in a fake nightclub in Montréal during the filming of an episode of Big Wolf on Campus.
  • A favorite trip: Spending a summer in the Caymans for the Million Dollar Month international fishing tournament.
  • Best travel tip: It's obvious, sure, but make an effort to seek out local color. There are few things more depressing than the thought of visiting a new and unfamiliar city only to scarf down a basket of Riblets at Applebee's for dinner.
  • Reasons to travel: Aside from the usual visiting of friends and family, I'll trot across the country for the occasional movie-centric press junket or oversized comic book convention.
  • Favorite restaurant: Since moving to Greenville to work at 10Best, I've snagged BBQ sandwiches from Henry's Smokehouse literally several hundred times by this point, so I guess I'd have to give them the nod as my favorite.
  • Ways time is spent when not traveling: Shunning exposure to natural sunlight while writing Blu-ray reviews and generally just indulging my consumptive media whoredom.
  • Favorite place to get an extraordinary version of an ordinary dish: I have to admit to never having headed up to New York for a taste of the real thing, but so far, the best pizza I’ve found is at Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix.
  • Favorite thing about traveling:  Rollercoasters! I’m less interested in soaking up local culture than I am being flung around upside down at 80 mph, and I’m trying to make it a point to hit up every major rollercoaster spot across the country.
