DOWNTOWN.   Updated Indian food, often boasting organic ingredients and California flair, finds a home at this near-campus restaurant. Earthy aromas waft through the air, a harbinger of what's to come. Rich curries are a welcome standard, and plenty of meatless dishes can be had. Tandoori dishes also find favor with diners, who appreciate lamb, chicken, seafood, and even vegan options. Great naan, fragrant samosas, and chickpea dishes further highlight the subcontinent's cuisine. Spice can be adjusted to your taste, and diners are welcome to bring their own alcohol to the restaurant.   (© 10Best)

I guess that most of us started feeling that the one time popular Indian restaurant us not good. I had a very bad experience too. If we have a car we drive to Ganges Indian Cuisine on the other side of Route 1. They have good food there.

It's reassuring if a disappointing to find that another reviewer has had the same experiences at Masala Grill that I have. When it first opened a few years ago, the service and attitude matched some exquisite dishes. It was a pleasure to bring visitors to Princeton there. In the last couple of years, however, the wait staff has lost its enthusiasm. I hope this will be forwarded to the woman who founded it based on her terrific family recipes, because that indifference is contagious.

Masala Grill should be so much more than it actually is - it's a beautiful restaurant, and the chef obviously knows what he's doing. The food was spicy and aromatic, and left us completely satisfied. However, the service was not only slow, but surly, and it's a restaurant that does not cater well to the students in the area, which is a shame, seeing as it's right across the street from a campus full of potential customers.
