1. La Gondola Providence

Italian culture seems to thrive in this city, and taking a trip on one of these authentic Venetian gondolas is a wonderful and unique way to experience Providence. The gondoliers are very knowledgeable about the city and helpful in offering history or travel advice during the trip if you would like, but you can also just listen to the Italian music they play and let your gondolier sing to you! The trip was so relaxing and enjoyable, and seemed so uniquely "Providence." This preceded or followed by dinner makes for an absolutely perfect night out. (Although be sure to make a reservation; the first night we walked by they were booked! But luckily we were able to reserve for the next day.)
