The state park at Utah's largest freshwater lake boasts four boat ramps and a sheltered marina. The 90,000-plus acre lake, flanked on all sides by towering mountains, is a year-round haven for anglers, who love its excellent fishing holes. In summer months, water-skiers and swimmers make for the lake, whose cool waters offer a perfect remedy for the heat. During the "cooler season" from December to March, the park's Olympic-size ice rink is open to the public. The Provo River Parkway Trail begins at Utah Lake State Park and leads trailblazers through scenic Provo Canyon, offering excellent stopping points where hikers can catch their breath and take in an unparalleled vista of the canyon and river.
