4. Nebo Loop Scenic Byway

PAYSON.   Forge your way through the pristine Uinta National Forest on this scenic route, which carries travelers past breathtaking Mt. Nebo (at 12,000 feet the tallest peak in the Wasatch Range). The route offers unforgettable vistas of beautiful Utah Valley, which, at times, lies more than 9000 feet straight down. In the spring and summer, the road is a favorite access route for hikers and fly-fishers, who use it to get to some of the area's best trails and trout streams. Nebo Loop runs 32 miles, from the town of Payson to Highway 132. Portions of the drive are closed in the winter; contact the Uinta National Forest office for specific details.   (© 10Best)
