5. La Barrica

PUERTO PLATA.   La Barrica attracts folks who want a more authentic Dominican experience than they can get in the city's Westernized bars. The bohemian nightspot comes alive after 11pm with plenty of Latin and Caribbean-inspired music, and the atmosphere is as conducive to all-out partying as you can get in the Dominican Republic.
