PUERTO PLATA.   Papa Hemingway had a voracious appetite for life and all its dizzying variety, and this Puerto Plata favorite doesn't disappoint patrons of similar dispositions. The menu offers a virtual "who's who" of international dishes, including New York steaks, fajitas, quesadillas, fresh seafood, and that American flag-bearer, the hamburger. Don't rush off after eating, because after 9pm, Hemingway's rocks with karaoke, live music, merengue dancing, and all-out dance fests. After all the good things this site had to say about Hemingway's, I was shocked when my boyfriend and I were beyond disappointed with the place. Not only did we have to wait over 10 minutes to be given a menu, we were served the worst onion rings and nachos we've ever ordered. My boyfriend saw an employee use the restroom and NOT wash his hands. This on top of the nasty food left us very unimpressed!!!

I went to Hemingway's a couple of years ago. The food was great, the service was excellent and the people were enjoying the vibe and the live music. The live band was unforgettable playing everything from ska to Spanish rock and cover songs. Definitely a place to go if you're in POP.
