Generous portions of bacon, eggs, grits, and pancakes smothered in maple syrup are just waiting for you to call their name. Should you miss the most important meal of the day, never fear – you can order breakfast all day. They also serve tasty sandwiches and have a great kids menu. On weekday mornings, from 7am-10am, enjoy an omelet, waffle or pancake combo plate for $6.

DOWNTOWN. Since 1930, this family-owned downtown eatery has served some of the best burgers and country-style meals in the area. Hearty Southern breakfasts include eggs and grits, biscuits, cheese toast, and good coffee. If you are coming here for lunch, plan to arrive before noon or after 2pm to avoid the crowds.

DOWNTOWN. Open since 1945, Finch's is a beloved Raleigh institution. Classic Southern eats at reasonable prices explain the appeal, although serving breakfast all day and adding free WiFi haven't exactly hurt business. A long list of weekday specials might include country fried steak with rice and gravy, fried shrimp, barbecued chicken and coleslaw, pot roast with carrots and potatoes, or fried chicken, with two sides of your choice. Omelets, bacon, sausage, country ham, waffles and pancakes are among the coveted breakfast items.
