2. Cleghorn Springs State Fish Hatchery

RAPID CITY.   To ward off the potential repercussions of overfishing, this hatchery raises and releases fish into local waters. Rainbow trout and Chinook salmon are raised from eggs to fingerlings, at which point they're taken out to replenish area lakes and streams. Visitors can learn about this entire process and also pick up tips on how best and most successfully to fish. During the summer, special programs are sponsored by the hatchery and are a terrific opportunity for children to learn and families to interact.   (© 10Best)
