Fredricksburg is great, but very expensive to stay and shop in, and can be quite crowded in summer. Love the Nimitz museum- don't miss that!!

Ranked 290 is my choice. Bandera,Texas Cowboy Capital of the World & Oldest HonkyTonk There is a lot of nature to take in and sites to see. Beautiful area, lots of water and places for horse riding, worth a higher rank, this one is. It is not on the beaten path, but it is worth going to so you can make your own path while there. : )

All of the above are great destinations. Dallas isn't in the Hill Country! It is in North Texas.

I think Salado should be ranked higher. It's beautiful with lots of great places to eat and wonderful shopping. The Christmas Stroll in December is absolutely the best place to Christmas shop and they now have a bistro (Adelea's On Main) with an outdoor patio and cocktails so the boys can relax while the girls shop. It's a wonderful romantic place to get away for the weekend.

Boerne, was wonderful! It's downtown is one mile long, lots of little shops, outdoor eatery's, a wine bar, and a bed and breakfast! And to top it all off, there's a pond with ducks, and you can even fish! All the buildings are the old 1800 look and have been totaled refubished! It is truly a down sout hatmosphere!

My favorite place is Austin, TX. This is a fun, energetic city, not too large, not too small, and is the music capital of the US. Anyone will see why this was chosen as the capital city of Texas.

"Travel Tips: Getting a Passport"

As with any government endeavor, getting a passport can be a daunting prospect. There are forms to fill out, documentation to obtain, circumstances to pin down, and rules to honor and obey. It's a lot to face. Add in the detail-following, the extended process, and the necessity of national security, and it can almost result in inactivity. Nevertheless, a passport is mandatory if you expect to travel internationally, so the best thing to do is break down the various components and get moving.

Although the US Department of State website (http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html) is the definitive resource on all things passport-related, 10Best can help you hit the high points and determine what needs to be done. The biggest considerations amid all the data-gathering are to make sure that you acquire and provide all of the paperwork requested and that you plan in advance - obtaining a passport is not about immediate gratification. Take things a step at a time, and you'll be exploring the world before long!
