8. Arts & Olive Festival

The Buzz -- Benefiting scholarship funds at Caņada College, this popular festival also pays tribute to a stand of long-lived olive trees that distinguish the campus. The event was instituted in 1998 and now includes food stands, arts and crafts vendors, and sellers of olives and olive oil. Live music is also part of the festivities, along with children's activities and a silent auction. In addition, the event coincides with the beginning of the school's performing arts slate.
