13. Pamplin Park Civil War Site

PETERSBURG.   This is the site of the US Army's Civil War offensive on Virginia that began with a break of Lee's defensive line on April 2, 1865. The park offers a look at preserved fortifications and a restored plantation. Walking trails, a children's museum and living history re-enactments. Considered by many to be America's Premier Civil War History Destination, the Park's 422-acre campus offers 4 museums, 3 historic homes, battlefield and trails. It is a great way to learn about life as a common soldier.
