SHOCKOE BOTTOM. From roast pork to black beans and rice, the food is as diverse as the atmosphere. The menu combines peasant foods with exotic fruit juices and flavors to form a perfect blend of Cuban cuisine. With an intentionally unkempt look, the décor plays up the cracks, exposed light bulbs and simplicity of this unrestored building. The roof is a dance floor, and large, glass garage doors open up to the street offering a festive, airy atmosphere. Latino music, a lively bar and authentic Cuban cigars beckon visitors from all walks of life.
