3. Silver Lake Park

ROCHESTER.   One of Rochester's more popular getaway spots, Silver Lake provides city dwellers with plenty of opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. During the winter, cross-country skiers and snowshoers frequent the park. In warmer months, certain visitors head straight for running and cycling paths that crisscross the park while others opt for a lazy day touring the lake by paddleboat or canoe. Meanwhile, bird watchers will enjoy Canadian geese frolicking in the lake, and kids can entertain themselves at the Children's Adventure Playground or take a dip in the public swimming pool.   (© 10Best)
