ROCHESTER. Dr. Henry S. Plummer, a 35-year member of the Mayo Clinic, had this stately English Tudor home built in the early '20s. In its heyday, the home was surrounded by more than 60 acres and was the setting for some of Rochester's finest annual soirees. In 1969, 33 years after her husband's death, Mrs. Plummer turned the estate over to the Art Center, and it fell, in subsequent years, under the auspices of Rochester's Parks and Recreation Department. Today, guests may tour the five-story home, which still contains most of its original furnishings, and the surrounding gardens. Interested parties may rent the Plummer House for weddings, receptions, and other special events.
