ROCHESTER.   Known for its elegant atmosphere and top-notch service, Michael's has enjoyed a privileged place on Rochester's restaurant scene since 1951. Inside, the walls are hung with scores of original paintings – some done by local artists, and all for sale. Roast Long Island Duckling over wild rice, Caramelized New Bedford Scallops in balsamic vinaigrette, and Garides Tourkolomino (Gulf shrimp with feta cheese and spinach manestra) earn particular praise from the regular crowd. All I can say is average. Absolutely not deserving of its reputation, it’s a stodgy old restaurant, completely overrated. It seems more like you are dining in a retirement center, same quality food and the vegetables taste like they are canned.

Overly enthusiastic wait-staff; somewhat overpriced but the meal was very good. Now I can say that I have tried Michael's but won't go back.

My wife and I have been to Michael's dozens of times and have NEVER been disappointed. A fabulous dining experience!
