1. Downtown Rochester

ROCHESTER.   Downtown Rochester has experienced a bit of rebirth of late, providing the setting for a handful of new restaurants and shops. Its centerpiece is the Galleria, an enclosed, multi-level shopping complex with a variety of specialty shops and restaurants, both chains and locally-owned. To make shopping easier during cold months, the Galleria sits in the middle of Rochester's Skyway system, which allows shoppers to park in nearby garages and walk through protected passageways to get to where they are going. As for antique hounds, although it's not quite downtown, Broadway Antique is a collectors haven, as is the Third Street District.   (© 10Best)
