The museum has a most informative and enjoyable presentation of glass functionality, with detailed exhibits chronicling the history and various aspects of the art form. Demonstrations provide a further understanding of the skill and techniques required for this time-honored tradition.

Genesee Country Village and Museum

This is a restored and operational 1800's village and museum. Located 20 miles southwest of Rochester, this charming village is comprised of a log cabin, farmhouse, homes, restaurants, shops, and artisans garbed in period attire.

George Eastman House

The former mansion of photography mogul George Eastman also functions as the International Museum of Photography and Film. Exhibits relate various aspects of photography and related issues, as well as providing an insightful glimpse at Eastman's life and career. There's also a gift shop, tearoom and garden tour.

It was here in 1897 that "America's Most Famous Dessert" began. Located an half hour's drive from Rochester, this museum, devoted to a time-honored slice of Americana, is both educational and entertaining and is housed in the historic Leroy House. Exhibits include Jell-O memorabilia from the past and present.

Rochester's definitive art museum boasts an 11,000-piece collection of art that spans several centuries. Included are works by such artists as Monet, Cézanne, Matisse, Homer and Cassatt. Also on the museum property: Cutler's Restaurant, the Gallery Store and the Gill Discovery Center.

National Women's Hall Of Fame

Although the museum is located 30 miles outside Rochester, a visit here is well worth the drive. The Hall of Fame commemorates the American women who have contributed to the arts, business, government, science and sports, such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Georgia O'Keeffe and Rosa Parks.

This outstanding museum boasts a wide-ranging collection of fun exhibits and activities, including Reading Adventureland, the National Toy Hall of Fame and even Sesame Street. Nature-lovers, meanwhile, will be captivated by Rainbow Reef (a 1000-gallon saltwater aquarium) and Dancing Wings (an indoor butterfly garden). Sure to be a favorite for the entire family. On-site ice cream fountain and food court.

Victorian Doll Museum

What began as a childhood hobby for curator Linda Greenfield has now grown into a remarkable exhibit of over 3000 dolls dating from the mid-19th century to the present day. An informative audio tour provides a great insight into history of this popular industry. Particularly heart warming is the "doll hospital," which allows visitors to observe the restoration of aging and damaged dolls. Be sure to stop by the on-site gift shop for a unique memento of your visit here. Group tours (with a lecture included) are available by reservation.
