7. Theater of Marcellus

Initially commissioned by Julius Caesar and completed by Augustus. Augustus in turn dedicated it to his late nephew Marcellus after his death in 23 BC. This massive venue boasts a diameter of 120 meters and a seating capacity of 20,000. Converted into a fortress during the Middle Ages, it later served as a palace during the 16th century.
